The Awards are to be presented and celebrated at a gala dinner which is to be held at the Viaduct Events Centre, Wynyard Quarter, Auckland on 3 November 2011 at 7pm.
Predinner drinks will be served from 7pm in the Pre Function area and at 7:20pm you may move through to your tables.
We require everyone to be seated by 7:30pm. Seating plans will be on display at the event.
Please note that the dress code is formal.
This year we are lucky enough to have the professional services of Mike McRoberts as our MC for the Awards Dinner.
Mike McRoberts is the anchor on TV3’s top rating six o’clock news bulletin 3News as well as presenting and reporting on the channel’s flagship current affairs show 60 Minutes.
In a reporting career spanning 25 years, Mike is best known for his work in some of the worlds most dangerous places, covering conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Gaza. He has also covered some of the world’s biggest natural disasters including the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010.
Also a keen sports follower, Mike has presented and reported from two Rugby World Cups and the Beijing Olympics.
Mike has won numerous journalism awards, including journalist of the year.
We are pleased to announce that our special guest speaker this year is Sir Ray Avery.
Ray Avery is a successful businessman, scientist, inventor and social entrepreneur.
He is a creative thinker, always looking for new or better ways of doing things and as outlined in his memoir “Rebel with a Cause” the disadvantages of his childhood have not held him back from a lifetime of achievements across a wide range of business and humanitarian areas.
His work has been recognised by his peers and he has received numerous awards including a Rotary Paul Harris Medal, The Bayer Research and Development Innovator Award 2008, World Class New Zealand Award for Biotechnology 2009, TBWA Disruption Award 2010, Kiwi Bank New Zealander of the year 2010 and The Blake Leadership Medal 2010.
Always entertaining and engaging, Ray’s observations on the business community and the human condition are enlightening, relevant and very funny.

The Cy Winstanley Trio is is an Auckland jazz band which has quickly made a name for itself in Auckland.
Cy Winstanley is a captivating musician with a warm and expressive vocal delivery. Originally from New Zealand and based in London for the last 7 years, Cy is influenced by a wide variety of musical styles including jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, country and choral music. Cy’s innovative jazz arrangements and original compositions reflect his musical diversity and this wide range of influences produce an exciting and charismatic performer.
Featured in The Cy Winstanley Trio is bassist Vanessa McGowan who brings a fresh, inventive sound to the group and an established mastery of her instrument. She has performed in extensively throughout New Zealand, Australia, The United States, Costa Rica and the UK and in 2007 completed a Masters of Music in the United States.
